Paper Pieced Tree

Learn how to paper piece while making this tree that can be used in a card, as an ornament or a gift tag. You can sew this by hand or by machine; directions for both are included. This is a good project for new sewers as it is very easy stitching and requires few supplies.

Supply List:

You can use small scraps of fabric (5″ square or less) of buy yardage (with lots of leftovers)

Fabric/Batting: (100% cotton works best!)

         1/8 yard for tree

1/8 yard for background

1/8 yard for tree trunk

1/8 yard for backing (for tag or ornament)

1/8 yard of batting (for ornament)

Cutting Tools:

fabric scissors   OR

rotary cutter, acrylic ruler and self healing mat

Notions:

neutral color of thread

pins

needle if sewing by hand

1/3 yard of ribbon (for tag or ornament)

greeting cards with cutout (for card)
