Four Patch

A four patch block has four squares.

Four patch quilt squares are popular traditional quilt blocks.  They can stand alone as whole quilt made from four patches or as a pieced border. Often they are used as alternate squares.  Watch the first two videos below to learn about a quick method that uses strip piecing for constructing this block.  The last video explains why this makes a good pattern for beginners.
