QUILT PROFILE
Quilt Pattern/Name: Ella’s Heart Quilt
Quilt Size: 52″ by 82″
Quilt Maker: Ella and Ann Tarabini and Mary Ann Brockman
Quilt Completion Date: February 29, 2000
Extra Information: This quilt was started in Febuary of 1999 during a visit from Ella’s grandma. The pink fabrics were chosen by Ella and her mom (me!). Grandma (Mary Ann Brockman) ironed fusible material to the back of the pink fabrics. Then the unique hearts were cut out by familty and friends and ironed on 6 inch squares. The edges of the hearts were finished with a blanket stitch (see below).
We spent almost a year looking for the pink frog border print (far bottom). Since the quilt was to be a bed cover, flannel was chosen as the backing. A light polyester batting was used because Ella wanted a light weight cover. This quilt was tied (between the squares) and machine quilted (around the hearts). Ella, Grandma, and I completed the quilt one year later during another visit.
