Quick quilts are fast and easy. The tops can be assembled in a weekend. These quilts are generally smaller and require less supplies than the Beginner Quilts listed below. (Quick Quilts are perfect for your first quilt project!)
These quilts were designed with the beginner quilter in mind. Most are made with simple shapes (rectangles and triangles) and feature straight line sewing.

Paper piecing is a good technique for quilters to learn. Beginners can get small precision piecing with minimal skill. Use the patterns below to get started.
All beginners should try their hand at applique. It’s fun and comes in handy when you want to embellish a project. These patterns do not include seam allowances. They can be sewn by hand or machine.
