Free Motion Quilting

Technically, quilting refers to the process by which all three layers of the quilt sandwich are sewn together. In the photo, I am machine quilting all three layers using a darning foot to make a free motion quilting design. I used my machine’s darning foot attachment to quilt this stitch.  Sometimes I also like to use a “slider” on my machine.  If you would like to purchase the supreme slider for free motion quilting, click here.

Generally, quilting refers to anything having to do with making a quilt, such as organizing the fabric and piecing the top.
