About Us

Hello!

My name is Ann Tarabini and I live in Pinole, CA. I am a retired National Board Certified Teacher from the West Contra Costa Unified School District in The San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve taught all grades and many different subjects over the years. Currently I teach quilting classes in WCCUSD Adult Education and at New Pieces fabric shop in Berkeley, CA.

Experience

Teacher

1982 – 2016; West Contra Costa Unified School District, Richmond, CA

Taught grades K through 12. Worked in regular education and special education. Trained new teachers through mentoring program. Set up home economics program at Helms Middle School. Received grant money for school quilt projects.

 

Quilt Instructor

1994 – present; West Contra Costa Adult Education, Richmond, CA

2016 – present; New Pieces Quilt Shop,  Berkeley, CA

2004 – 2016; Stone Mountain & Daughter Fabric Shop, Berkeley, CA

Taught beginning and intermediate level quilt classes in adult education. Instructed adults at local fabric and antique shops.

 

Sewing Instructor

2001 -2003; The Ed Fund, Richmond, CA

Taught sewing and quilting classes to middle school students in after school program.

 

Classroom Quilt Project Chairperson

1998 – 2007; St. Joseph School Pinole, CA

Managed quilt project for school auction for 3 years. Designed, pieced and quilted quilts with students for 9 years. Trained other parents to work on quilts. Expanded sales from $5000 to $15,000.
