Frame 1: Hot Dry Iron
Now you are ready to press your binding strip. Use a hot dry iron. Some people prefer to use steam but this can easily distort your fabric.
Frame 2: Folding
Place the binding strip on the ironing board and begin folding the wrong sides together. Make sure the edges line up.
Frame 3: Pressing
Begin pressing as you fold the strip. Watch out for your fingers!
Frame 4: Tip
To expedite this process and keep your fingers from harm's way, try this pressing tip. Use a glass head straight pin as a plastic head pin will melt.
Frame 5: Pinning
Pin this to your ironing board cover. Leave enough space to slide your folded binding through the opening.
Frame 6: Pressing
As you begin pulling the unfolded binding through this slot, it will automatically fold before your eyes! Press as you pull the strip.
Frame 7: Binding Complete
Soon you will have a pressed binding strip ready for sewing.
