Creating and Applying Binding to the Quilt

Hello!  Thank you for joining us. 

This tutorial is made up of a series of mini-lessons covering the topic of binding.  During these lessons students will learn how to make a strip of French binding and apply this to a quilt . 

Students will find the goals and objectives of the 6 mini-lessons under Lessons on the left hand side of the screen.  Since there are no time limits in this class, students may work through each lesson at their own pace.  The lessons and/or transcripts of the slideshows can be printed out for convenience.   Copying and pasting the lesson's text into a word processing program works best!  (Click here to learn more about copying and pasting.  Use the back button to return to this page.)

While reading through the lessons, students also have the option of creating a "practice  piece" before tackling a larger quilt project.  You can find the materials needed for this project under Supply List.
